Kati's birthday July 29th.

Let's see, I will start off with our trip to Corpus Christi for Kati's 12 th birthday. We were all excited be away for a few days. The first morning we slept in , the birthday girl opened cards and presents and ate birthday cake for breakfast.

So, we were all ready to head out to the beach and the car wouldn't start...okay, so we didn't have a flat tire this trip, the next best thing would be battery problems wouldn't it.

We tried to locate some jumper cables at the motel, but either no one had any or they didn't understand what we were asking for. Folau walked to the nearest gas station, it was only 3/4 mile away but with the temp at 103 degrees he wasn't too thrilled. The kids and I hung out in the motel 6 swimming pool and felt a little guilty but that soon wore off.
Finally we were off to the beach. We headed to a sweet beach a few miles south, and parked right on the sand. We got a bit stuck as we were looking for the perfect spot.

The water was so warm and the beach was really peaceful. The kids enjoyed throwing Doritos's on me while I napped on the beach. They had a laugh watching the seagulls attack me.

Folau created a little shade for himself. Kati found some for herself too.

Here is a self portrait to prove I was actually there.

William made friends with the Ice cream man selling from his van up and down the beach . I was surprised at how much time Folau spent in the water. William and Folau did a bit of fishing too.

Our motto for the day.....Catch and release...

When it was time to pack up and leave, guess what ....the car wouldn't start, so we flagged down
a truck and got a jump start with our new cables.

This is one of the downsides of driving with the top down.

We decided to stop at the nearest auto zone, so we pulled off the freeway and bought a new battery.
All ended well, we had a super day.

The next day Folau and William fished and Kati and I went to the movies. We went to see IMAGINE THAT and LAND OF THE LOST. Both good films.

We found a piece of heaven....

The end of the jetty in Port Aransas.

William looking for crabs.

We had a great few days away...I wonder what we will do next year.
